our wedding day: first looks

happy Friday! this post is going to be a short one because Justen and I are getting ready to go to a baseball game for our date night tonight :) and there's not a ton I have to share words-wise about our first looks except to say that there were three of them, starting with my bridesmaids, my dad, and then my (almost) husband ;)

Justen and I exchanged personal vows at our first look and traditional vows at our ceremony. we went back and forth on this and ultimately loved being able to have the best of both worlds -- honor the traditional wedding vows thousands (or hundreds of thousands?! millions?!) of couples have recited while also using our private moment to exchange personal vows that are just between the two of us.

my first first look was with my bridesmaids, and their reactions were so so precious. each of them had a unique expression on their face, which I just love. AND my sweet friends came up with the idea to FaceTime my friend Peggy -- a bridesmaid who wasn't able to be there on the day of -- and had her be a part of the first look!! that alone made me tear up and was so special ❤️

right after the bridesmaid first look was my first look with my dad, and honestly, this one had me the most emotional of all. he's the person I've known the longest (along with my mom ofc) and there were just so many emotions wrapped up in our moment together. his reaction was one I'll treasure forever.
